Special baggage may include:
- musical instruments;
- animals and birds;
- weapons, ammunition and special equipment;
- works of art;
- electronic equipment;
- porcelain, ceramics and other fragile articles;
- valuable articles;
- wheelchairs;
- sports equipment.
Passengers are obliged to coordinate the carriage of special baggage such a heavy musical instruments, animals, weapons and ammunition, bulky electronic equipment, wheelchairs, sports equipment with «Rossiya airlines» OJSC beforehand.
A passenger wishing to carry special baggage shall inform «Rossiya airlines» OJSC when making their reservation. Failure to observe this rule shall entitle «Rossiya airlines» OJSC to refuse to carry such baggage.
The airlines may refuse to carry special baggage that:
- may endanger people or their property;
- may damage the aircraft and equipment;
- may be damaged during the air carriage;
- is not packaged according to the requirements of «Rossiya airlines» OJSC;
- is prohibited by legal regulations, instructions or order of the state, to which the passenger is departing.
The packaging of baggage must ensure that the contents of the baggage are protected during handling and transportation.
The transportation of weapos, ammunition and special equipment in cabin is prohibited except employees of the Russian Federal Bodyguard Service and Russian State Courier Service who are on duty.
Passengers shall be advised not to include to their checked-in baggage fragile items, perishable goods, dangerous objects, documents, business papers, money, jewelry, medicimes, objects of art, etc.
Carriage of the special baggage shall be paid for at the fare of overweight baggage. The fare for baggage transportation on an extra seat shall correspond to the price of transportation of the passenger carrying such baggage.
